Services

Med Flight Air Ambulance provides a complete range of air medical services from routine healthcare patient transport to aeromedical evacuations and life flights. Flights are customized to match the patient’s condition, degree of care required, and distance to be traveled. A number of supplementary or ancillary services can be arranged as needed.

Basic Life Support Transport

This level of care is staffed by two or more Air Medical Specialists capable of providing basic or advanced treatment as needed by the patient. This service level is particularly appropriate for those individuals who, for health or medical reasons, would have difficulty or discomfort with traveling alone. This transport may be scheduled on a commercial airline carrier (intercontinental trips only) or in a Med Flight Air Ambulance aircraft.

Is cost savings the primary goal for your intercontinental trip? Consider requesting a commercial stretcher air ambulance trip.

Advanced Life Support Transport

This level of intensive care is staffed by two or more Air Medical Specialists, and functions as an airborne Mobile Intensive Care Unit. This service level would address those patients requiring some degree of life support (ventilator, pacemaker, etc) or multiple intravenous medications and monitoring. This transport may be scheduled on a commercial airline carrier (intercontinental trips only) or in a Med Flight Air Ambulance aircraft.

Specialty / Critical Care Transport

commercial stretcher transports, specialty care equipment

More intensive than Advanced Life Support, this level of in-transit medical care requires the presence of several specialized medical personnel and equipment arrays, depending upon the specific need of the patient. Some examples of this level of care are those requiring intra-aortic balloon pumps or ventricular assist device/s, neonatal ICU transports, and many pediatric intensive care situations. Due to the specialized equipment and crew, this transport may only be accomplished in a Med Flight Air Ambulance aircraft.

As a matter of practice, we conduct quality improvement and utilization reviews for each flight.
